Job Title: Chief Hacker
HadoopDB is recruiting a Team Lead/Java developer with skilled database systems programming experience. The candidate would lead
the open source development of the HadoopDB project, interfacing with the open source community to turn the HadoopDB code
created by the research team at Yale University into a full-fledged data management system that is useful out-of-the-box to
perform analytical data processing tasks at the petabyte scale.
A qualified candidate must:
- Have a Bachelor or Masters of Science in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- Have significant experience programming in Java
- Have experience building distributed/parallel systems
- Have significant experience developing systems software such as operating systems, databases, storage systems, file
systems, etc.
Experience in any of the following is highly desirable:
- Hadoop
- Scalable and highly available systems
- Performance tuning optimization and benchmarking
- Database internals (query execution, query optimization, etc.)
- Open source software development
